Starting in 2016, the O6 Afterschool was the first of the Original Six Foundation’s educational programs focused on improving the education outcomes of South Carolina students attending rural schools.
Beginning in just three schools with ten teachers and 150 students enrolled, O6 Afterschool is currently led by 120 teachers serving 996 students in 12 schools with an investment of $2,250,259.57 in South Carolina teachers and students. The Original Six will celebrate a decade of O6 Afterschool by expanding the program into a thirteenth school during the 2025-26 academic year. By June of 2026, the Original Six Foundation’s investment in South Carolina will eclipse $3,000,000.00.
